Have you ever camped out in a theater for a forty-eight hour marathon? Do you own dice with more than six sides? Do you regularly quote B movies that have become cult classics? Have you been to a convention at which all of the attendees are in costumes? Or perhaps you’re just trying to understand the geek you’re crushing on. If so, Geektastic is the book for you.
I grew up a music, dance, and theater geek and married a gamer geek, and I must say this book spoke to me. The stories are compelling and funny. The kids in them are so familiar, navigating the intricacies of adolescence with the help, or hindrance, of their interests and imaginations. The stories are written by an amazing group of popular MG and YA writers, and their bios explain why they’re exactly the folks to write this book. Who knew so many writers spent their teen years as dungeon masters? Highly recommended.
